Genting Group Announces $400M Plan For New York Casino
The Genting Group gets ready to expand their operations in New York with a massive $400m investment that will lead to a new 400-room hotel, four new restaurants, and what they predict will be a "whole new gambling experience."
The project is set to create more than 4,000 new jobs.
New York’s only brick-and-mortar casino, the Resorts World Casino New York (RWCNY), will be undergoing a $400 million renovation as part of the Genting Group's plan to expand their operations in the U.S.
Once completed, the project will bring to the casino a 400-room hotel, four dining outlets and several retail offerings for a brand-new experience at the arrival.
The President of the Resorts World Casino New York City, Scott Molina, said that the expansion will not only serve the purposes of the company but will provide New York City with $200 million in economic activities.
This will be translated into approximately 1,000 career work opportunities, 3,000 construction jobs and several thousand indirect jobs.
Another beneficiary will be The New York State’s Lottery Education Fund, which has been receiving since 2011 more than $1.9 billion and it is expected to increase with this upcoming project.
John Bonacic, Chairman of the State Senate’s Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee said that the “Resorts World Casino New York City’s success has helped to grow jobs, stimulate the local economy and generate close to $2 billion in revenue for our State’s schools”
The RWCNY has been constantly receiving good praise from different sectors of the community due to their commitment with New Yorkers and the economic impact they have provided.
Today, the Asia-based Genting Group controls resorts in Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines, South Korea, the UK, the Bahamas and the United States.
The company runs operations on the four oceans too, through their Star Cruises and Crystal Cruises ventures. All these global destinations represent the vision of the company to target costumers of different interest, budgets and personal tastes.
